ECU City is coming to life in the heart of Perth
October was an exciting month for ECU City as the external façade continued to take shape, giving the best taste yet of how the new campus will enhance the architectural landscape of Perth’s CBD.
The construction team is making remarkable progress across all areas of the campus as the structure approaches its full height at the end of this year. Fitout works are advancing on multiple levels, including in WAAPA’s eight state-of-the-art performance and rehearsal spaces, with installation of staging and audiovisual technology already underway.
Set to open in semester one of 2026 with more than 10,000 students and staff, the new ECU City campus will be a vibrant cultural hub in Perth. Featuring more than 300 public performances annually, ECU City will be an exciting addition to the flourishing arts scene in WA.
The $853 million project is part of the $1.7 billion Perth City Deal, a collaboration between the Australian Government, Western Australian Government and Edith Cowan University, to deliver Perth’s first fully comprehensive inner-city university campus.
