ECU alumni shine among city lights this Christmas
Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA) alumni filled Yagan Square with the magical melodies of music to kick-off the City of Perth’s seasonal celebrations.
The group performed a mix of nostalgic and festive tunes as part of the Perth Christmas Lights Trail, which includes spectacular light installations around the city along with a host of family-friendly events and activities.
Classical sopranos Magda Lisek, Bella Marslen, Sarah Jackson, Ammon Bennett and Nathan Breeze, accompanied by pianist Nik Williams and harpist Rachel Fish, delivered an exciting preview of the talent that will be on show at ECU City when it opens in 2025.
WAAPA is one of the schools that will have a new home at ECU City, which will be located directly opposite Yagan Square in the Perth CBD. The creative industries, business and technology campus will inject energy and vibrancy into the city, with WAAPA bringing more than 300 live performances to the CBD arts calendar each year.
The group will perform again on Friday, 17 December, 6.00pm – 8.00pm, at Yagan Square to close out the festivities.
