Property Council shines the spotlight on social infrastructure

ECU’s Carolyn Hamilton speaking on a stage with three other people.

ECU’s Carolyn Hamilton (centre) discussed how ECU City will play a key role in shaping the social infrastructure of Perth’s CBD when it opens in 2025.

ECU City took centre stage at the Property Council of Australia (WA) Spotlight on Social Infrastructure Forum.

Carolyn Hamilton, Director of Communications and Engagement - University of the Future, joined representatives of Hesperia, WA Museum (including Boola Bardip), St John of God Healthcare and SportWest, along with 150 guests at the panel discussion on Friday, 29 October.

The panel took guests on a visual journey through some of the State’s newest and most cutting-edge infrastructure projects as they discussed their significance in shaping the community.

As ECU City looks ahead to a 2025 opening, the importance of activation, clever design and long-term community benefits were high on the agenda for the day.

Ms Hamilton spoke about the injection of activity and vibrancy that WAAPA’s move to the city is expected to bring, as well as the anticipated changes in attitudes towards Perth creative arts students, by locating their studies and performances close to where other arts and culture action is happening.
